What: We will weed the rain garden. NO EXPERIENCE NECESSARY.
The rain garden and wet prairie were created due to flooding of this portion of the Mill Creek. They are designed to collect and store rain water running off of the parking lot and soccer fields, reducing the volume of water entering the creek. They were planted with native plants, but like most gardens is being over-run with weeds and invasive plants such as pear trees.
Who: Any age
When: We will begin at 6 pm, but you can join us when you can make it.
Where: The rain gardens are along the edge of the parking lot closest to Barrett Road.
Please bring: Water bottle. If you have gloves and tools, please bring them. We will have some to share. When I was out there last week, there were mosquitoes, so bug spray might be good.
We will bring: Water to refill bottles, extra gardening tools and gloves.
