Remove Invasive Honeysuckle

Calendar Happens On Mar 20, 2021
Time 9 am - 12 noon
Expired

Description

Honeysuckle is a non-native, invasive plant that is taking over our natural areas. It forms dense stands, blocking native species from growing. During this 3 hour event, we will be cutting and treating honeysuckle to make way for native plants.

No experience necessary.

Please Bring: We will have tools, but please bring gloves and loppers if you have them. Be prepared to get muddy as this event is early Spring. We will bring tools to share and water.

All ages welcome. Younger children can use grabbers to pick up trash and help drag honeysuckle branches.

Masks are required.

Exact locationSee map. The location we will be targetting is along Joe Nuxhall Way in Joyce Park. We will be parking along Joe Nuxhall Way between the RC Aircraft Field and River Road. The entrance to Joe Nuhall that is at the St Clair Ave and River Road intersection is closest.  Please look for the signs and other vehicles parked along the road way.
