Books and Brews!
Building Block events are our way of joining together with our neighbors throughout Butler County to give back in a way that will build a solid foundation for the future. Each Building Block event is tailored to one of the building blocks for a good life: Health, Financial Stability/Basic Needs, or Education.
Our 'Books and Brews' education event will be held on Wednesday, September 14, 2022, where we will assemble literacy kits for young children. These educational kits will include the book "There Was an Old Lady Who Swallowed a Fly" by Rose Bonne, plus crayons, scissors, yarn, paper plates, and Ziplock baggies. The items within the literacy kits will be used interactively as the children read the book.
The supplies for this event were generously provided through a donation from McGraw Kokosing.
The finished literacy kits will be provided to the Butler County Educational Service Center to be distributed throughout their many early childhood education programs.
We invite you to join us by volunteering your time to build the kits.
Pour House has generously donated the space for our event;
food and beverage are available for purchase.
This worthwhile event is sure to be enjoyable as we share some food and drink
while we put together a fun and educational kit!
