Volunteer: Behavioral Health Volunteer

The Behavioral Health (BH) Volunteer, having direct care of children, must submit to local, state and national crime checks and other background checks as requested, including BMV.  The BH Volunteer must also complete required background checks including BCII / FBI with no record of forbidden offenses listed in OAC 5180:2-5-09.  Volunteers for events/activities where they will be supervised by Focus staff and not involving the care or supervision of youth are not required to do background checks.

Tasks may include:

Engage with clients in the waiting room to help them feel valued and safe. Call clients for appointment reminders, document requests, or general purpose calls. Copy, scan, and assist with data entry with hard copy and electronic filing. Score outcome forms. Inventory needed supplies, with ordering or shopping of approved supply list. Organize and sanitize play therapy materials.

*Volunteer hours can be flexible depending on schedules.
