From Nov. 22 through Dec. 24, Kiwanis of Oxford, in cooperation with the Salvation Army will be ringing bells for the Salvation Army Red Kettles at Kroger's, located here in Oxford at Locust and Spring streets.
Ninety percent of the kettle donations will go to the Family Resource Center right here in Oxford. Needy families in dire need use the money primarily for gasoline, transportation to crucial appointments (medical, job interviews,etc.), for medical prescriptions, utility bills, and for purchases at the local food pantry.
You can sign up for bell ringing time slots through www.oxfordkiwanis.org , and click on Volunteer Opportunities/Current Opportunities, and then click on "2019 Bell Ringing Signup Sheet" or on the flyer which is like the one you see in this advertisement above. Scheduled openings are on Mondays and Fridays from 4:00 pm to 8:00 pm, and on Saturdays from 10:00 am to 4:00 pm. Time slots are for 1 hour, 2 positions at the North Door, and 1 position at the South Door.
Please consider volunteering as a Salvation Army/Kiwanis bell ringer at Kroger to raise money for needy people here in Oxford. Miami University students and faculty are encouraged to sign up. The community and recipients will appreciate your help, and also, this will honor God during this Christmas season.
